Resurrection Sunday Message

Resurrection Sunday Message
By internet Pastor, Pastor William Mazzulla III

Though I am writing this for resurrection Sunday, it is a good message of hope for all at any and every time of the year.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25

Martha in that discussion said of her dead brother Lazarus; "Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days."

Martha thought Jesus was talking of someday but Jesus was a God of the now and still is the God of the now to meet our needs. Graves were often in caves, natural or carved out and blocked with a large stone, a boulder. So when Jesus told them to remove the stone she protested that by now Lazarus would smell bad . "He stinketh" the King James says.

A spiritual application would be that there are churches with false doctrine and just as dangerous compromising Pastors with compromising members and God would say fo those churches that they "stinketh"!

That is another whole message so let us get back to the literal meaning of this Bible incident.

Once they removed the stone Jesus prayed out loud to His Heavenly Father so that there would be no doubt as to why Lazarus came alive. Then Jesus just said 3 simple powerful words; "Lazarus, Come forth". Poor Lazarus bound up like an Egyptian mummy. He must have been hopping awkwardly, while struggling to breathe through his grave clothes in order to try to obey Jesus after death lost it's grip on his body.

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. John 11:44

Sometimes when God does a miracle He often leaves a part for us to do.

Jesus did many healings, miracles including raising the dead back to life. The greatest miracle is Jesus Christ's resurrection. Jesus was beaten for our healing (Isaiah 53, 1 Peter 2:24), suffered judgment oif God in our place dying for our sins and on the third day arose from the dead. This resurrection is proof that Jesus is God in the flesh (John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16)

As proof that He was the son of God, Jesus allowed others to worship Him. Often when they were healed or set free from demons, the person set free would worship Jesus. The final proof of Jesus being God was when he arose from the grave after 3 days.

As if that was not enough the resurrected Jesus Christ in the immediate days following the resurrection allowed others to worship Him. One time that stands out is when Thomas doubted and when Our Lord Jesus Christ appeared To Thomas, knowing Thomas's previous words was told by Jesus to put his hands in Jesus side and to feel the holes from the nails of the Cross. At that point Thomas worshiped Jesus as God and said my Lord and my God.

Jesus accepted Thomas's worship as He, Jesus, accepts your worship and my worship today and on into eternity.

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 20:29

So this blessed time of year or whenever you read this begin to believe in Jesus. If you already have a personal alive relationship with the living God, Jesus Christ, then pray to Him about the Holy Spirit increasing your faith so that you will believe even more!

Amen!

Part 1 Mark 4:35-41 - In the Boat, Out of the Boat, and a Ghost!

This message I verbally preached both parts as one sermon, I titled:
In the Boat, Out of the Boat, and a Ghost!

Then I did it as a Bible study via Yahoo Instant Messaging (YIM) for GPS Ministry (India).
Both times the sermon/study came out different so the one I post here will be the notes from the 2-part Yahoo Bible Study but not exactly the same as when I teach by chat because there might be questions and comments that go beyond my notes. Part 2 I thought I was also going to post tonight after teaching via yahoo to the staff at GPS Ministry but the staff was on holiday.
Instead I and Bishop Stephen fellowshipped via YIM.
Oh and the Ghost part you will not find out about until Part 2 of this message.

Anyway, enjoy Part 1 of this message.

Part 1 is:
Storms, Winds, Hurricanes and God's Plan

Should we call what we read in the Bible... Bible stories?
Think about it for a moment and I will tell you my answer.

while thinking about it turn to Mark 4:35

Childrens Bedtime stories and fairy tales are make believe stories
but the Bible is more then just stories.

They are Bible history, Bible incidents not just a story
More important, what we read in the Bible is Truth,
the Word of God and the Words of eternal Life.

-----------------------------------

One more thing my favorite translation is the Geneva Bible.
It is the same Bible That the Pilgrims carried over to America on the ship, the Mayflower. My next favorite is the King James Version. Both are more complete then many modern translations.
When in doubt of a meaning in your Bible, if it is a modern translation then look the verse up in the Geneva Bible or the KJV Bible.

Since King James Version is more common then the Geneva Bible, I am using the KJV.

Now onto the main lesson:

Title: Storms, Winds, Hurricanes and God's Plan

First scripture text
Mark 4:35-41

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them,
Let us pass over unto the other side.
36 And when they had sent away the multitude,
they took him even as he was in the ship.
And there were also with him other little ships.
37 And there arose a great storm of wind,
and the waves beat into the ship,
so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:
and they awake him, and say unto him,
Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still.
And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them,
Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another,
What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them,
Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 And when they had sent away the multitude,
they took him even as he was in the ship.
And there were also with him other little ships.

Earlier in the day Jesus healed the sick cast out demons and taught the Word of God.
Many were following Jesus... some for the excitement of what they might have looked at as a show. But many did follow JESUS for the right reasons because of his teaching which is a good start. Most importantly we should follow Jesus and obey his teachings because He loved us to go to the Cross and even now is at the rioght hand of our Heaven Father praying for us.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind,
and the waves beat into the ship,
so that it was now full.

(Seismos = Greek word for earthquake, hurricane)
Earthquakes cause tides to rise suddenly like in a Tsunami except in this case the water was not pulling back again. Not until a certain thing happened.

Some scholars believe that this storm was so intense that it was from Satan trying to stop and kill Jesus. I think that is correct because the devil is the ruler over the powers of the air.
Of course we know that Lucifer could never stop Jesus.
Neither can the devil stop you
when you have Jesus in your life,
and are filled with God's Holy Spirit
and you are quick to repent of sin
and you are walking in obedience to God's Word.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:
and they awake him, and say unto him,
Master, carest thou not that we perish?

The disciples are fishermen and would have storms once in a while especially
since the storms do come up quickly in that area.
This storm seems to be like something they have never seen before.
By the time we get to the end of this Bible event
we will see that the disciples still did not yet realize who Jesus was.
So when they woke Jesus up this what they were actually implying:
"Jesus how come you are sleeping and not helping us bail out water.
Don't you care if we all drown?"

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still.

Jesus was telling the winds, the storm the waves "Peace be still, calm down, stop it"

Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
Normally even if it a wind and storm calms down then it will take some time for the seas and waves to calm down.
But at the command of Jesus all was calm and still!

40 And he said unto them,
Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

In the Greek he is using the same expression as Paul writing in one of his letters to Timothy where Timothy was told and we are told "not to have a Spirit of fear"
In fact the Greek for afraid is actually coward so Jesus was asking
"Why be such coward? Where is your faith"

May God grant us all faith in the hard times of our lifes.
Especially when we feel like we are in stormas and waves and winds are almost sinking us.
Even if it seems like Jesus is sleeping....
remember Jesus is in the boat with you and HE will make sure you get where He wants you.
Continue to have faith in God.

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another,
What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

They were more terrified now.
They did not expect that and almost could not believe what they just saw and experienced.

They began to realize that Jesus is more then just another Rabbi, more then just another godly teacher. Only God can do what Jesus just did... could it be?
Could being in Jesus presence actually be the presence of God.
Not knowing that Jesus is God in the flesh and not yet understanding....
caused them to be terrified and asked each other yet none were at this time ready to acknowledge Jesus as God and Messiah.

Come back for:
Part 2 :
A Second Storm - Another Faith Test
Probably it will be posted in a week or two.
It will be after I do this as a study with my friends in India.

Sincerely,
internet Pastor Bill Mazzulla III

shall humble themselves,

3. A Thanks-Giving Christmas Carol

The turkey came into the kitchen looking disheveled and his feathers were all wilted and weathered.

"Looks like we are not having thanksgiving this year sister. He is so mangy looking and his feathers are falling off. I do not want a scared skinny looking turkey. I want something plump and with some meat on it."

The turkey overheard the conversation and went outside the courtyard in search of the biggest turkey he could find. He found one who was eating all the corn and hay in the yard out back. This one looked pretty good
but it was not a turkey it was a over-sized chicken who was pregnant with chicks.

The Pastor got out his shot gun and wanted to shoot the best one there. The pitiful one looked him right in the eyes and said out loud in bird talk
"Shoot here. Shoot here."
The Pastor says
"I can not kill a bird who talks to me. that was a sin."
So the pastor went out in the field looking for more big turkeys to feed his guests of twenty nine, with all the trimmings.

Along came Al the skinny managing looking turkey, around his neck said
"Please shoot me. I want to die".
The pastor says
"Nope I d
o not want you Al, maybe next year."

Sister Marie came outside near the shed and said to Pastor.

"Pastor you can not kill all these birds,"
Pastor said "why?"
"Because they are all female chickens. Oh can you not see? No I guess not,
Pastor will you please put on your bifocals and see that these are the most pathetic birds around. they be lucky if they laid any eggs."

So the motto of this story is:
"to please put your glasses on
and make sure God gives you a turkey instead of chickens!!"

Al was really the name called Albara she was an Italian chicken.

Linda of Florida

4. Scripture
for today

Matthew 25:34 - 40

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

4. Devotional

Thanksgiving Shoes
by
Katrina L Wampler

We’ve all heard the song/story of the Christmas Shoes. Well, I have a story for you.

You’ve all read stories of my crazy kids. Raising the three of them on my own has been trying, painful, and joyful all in one breath. Each day brings new adventures, new trials, and new stories. Several years ago we were heading into the Summer months and it was time to get sandals for the kids. I was breaking a sweat just thinking of the dollars signs attached to each pair.

So we’re off to Wal-mart. The kids were excited and bouncing to the roof of the mini-van as we pulled into the parking lot. Through the sliding doors we go and they’re off to find the best pair…the coolest pair of sandals known to elementary school kids across the nation. (No doubt the most expensive pair known to single moms everywhere.)

We had to have spent the better part of an hour roaming up and down every…single….aisle of the Wal-mart shoe department. I’m secretly hiding in the women’s section counting my dollars and digging to the bottom of my Mary Poppin’s purse searching for every last dime I can conjure up..not to mention offering a few prayers to find a quarter on the ground somewhere.

“All right, we’re ready.” The announcement came in unison as my three little ones lined up with the biggest and most precious grins I’ve ever seen on them. Not that devilish grin they usually bare that means there’s a blood stain in the carpet somewhere. But a sweet..sweet smile of satisfaction. With great pride, they each held out their sandals. Much to my surprise, there were no flashing lights, no sounds and no holograms. Just plain, ordinary velcro sandals with the lowest price tag any each of them could find.

I cried all the way to the check out line. I didn’t have to give them the speech on “we don’t have a lot of money”…they understood that I’m doing the best I can with what I have and everything that glitters is not gold. They saved me enough money that we even stopped by McDonald’s to scour their dollar menu and tour the play-land for a bit.

It is one of most memorable times with my children. It was the moment I realized they had values and were selfless when it most counted. I’ve since seen those very values displayed among the holidays as my children have pooled their allowances together to give to someone less fortunate (since my children have somehow failed to catch on that we are among the ‘poor’.)

This year they have made the commitment to carry out such compassion and charity throughout an entire year to a ministry known as the Shiloh Lighthouse Ministry and their Project 2000. I hope you’ll take the time to check it out and see how this charity can fit into your holiday giving. Teaching our children the concept of giving is one of the most valuable lessons we can give them. The one concept my children and I live by is Matthew 25:45. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you do for the least of my people, you do also unto me.”

Obama won? Now What?

Obama won. Now What?

The Bible instructs us to pray for our rulers and leaders. If you liked Obama, pray for his success and if you did not like Obama pray that God will change Obama's heart to do what is best for America! One thing more thing, if President-elect Obama, as any president, makes mistakes that are bad for us and bad for America then he should still be opposed. Pray for him while opposing when needed! Kind of like "love the sinner while hating the sin"!

1 Timothy 2:1-3

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

'Twas the night before elections - Vote - 2008 -

'Twas the night before elections - Vote - 2008 -

'Twas the night before elections

And all through the town

Tempers were flaring

Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe

With a cat in my lap

Had cut off the TV

Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden

There arose such a noise

I peered out of my window

Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet

They wanted my pay

To give to the others

Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money

And quick as a wink

Jumped back on his bandwagon

As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen

Who were pulling his cart

I could tell they were out

To tear my country apart!

' On Fannie, on Freddie,

On Biden and Ayers!

On Acorn, On Pelosi'

He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause

And as he flew out of sight

I heard him laugh at the nation

Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think

On this one final note-

IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM

GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

Church Hid in the Weeds

Church Hid in The Weeds

CHURCH HID IN THE WEEDS

Just two little boys
Walking down a dusty lane.....
They came upon this old white house..
With broken window panes

The paint was faded, the shine was gone...
The grass had grown so h
i
gh....
Still they made their little feet
Go see what was inside.

They opened up the squeaky door
And then it came to light....
This must have been an old church house...
Once upon a time.

Dirty, dusty wooden pews...
A pulpit that still stood...
A Bible laid upon it....
Though the pages weren't too go.

An offering plate and song books too...
Were lying on the floor.
They must have left this old church fast...

The day they closed these doors.

And over in the corner ...
A piano was still there.
It must have played a pretty tune..
But I guess nobody cared.

So little Bill looked up at Tommy..
And Tommy looked at Bill...
Why don't we clean this old church up,
And get these old pews filled?'

They took a rag and wiped the dust...
To try and make things shine..
And then they took the offering plate...
And put in it their last dime.

They took a broom and swept the floor...
And picked up broken glass....
They got it all so nice and neat...
And then they mowed the grass.

They lifted up the old church sign...
And stood it by a tree...
Right down by that old dirt road
Where everyone could see.

They ran back home, to find Daddy gone
But their Momma was inside...
Just to find her hurt again...
Where Daddy had made her cry.

'Don't cry Momma,wipe those tears,'
Little Bill and Tommy smiled...
'Cause! We have a big surprise for you....
Just down the road a mile.'

Hand in hand they tugged at her.
Until they made her run....
'What is it Bill, Oh Tommy,
Just what have you two kids done?'

And then they came upon the house...
Once hidden by the weeds...
And there it stood a country church...
Just like it used to be.

'But what is it, Mother? What's with your tears?
We thought this would bring you joy.'
'Yes, but hush kids now and listen close...
My two sweet precious boys.'

They both got quiet and stood real still...
For the words they heard so true....
Was Daddy praying in the church...
With his head bowed on the pew.

'Forgive me Lord! Forgive me Lord!
Though I'm not worthy of Your love...
Shine down on this sinner man
Sweet Salvation from above.'

'For I've been out in the world, You know..
Living my life all wrong...
Until I came upon this church;
the place where I belong.'

'I never noticed it before...
All those times I passed it up..
I guess I wasn't looking, Lord...
Or maybe I was drunk.'

'Bless oh Lord, yes, bless oh Lord...
The one who made me see..
This little church that used to hide...
Behind all those tall weeds.'

And then he raised his head and stood...
With his hands high in the air...
To find two dirty, tear-faced boys...
With Momma standing there.

They ran up to him, hugged him tight...
As their tears fell on the floor.
'Don't worry kids, I'm not the Dad,
The one you 've known before.'

Things are different for us now..
So keep on those pretty smiles...
And let's go gather people in...
To walk down these church aisles.'

Then Bill looked up at Tommy...
And Tommy looked at Bill...
'Come on brother, let's get to work...
To get these old pews filled.'

'For we need no special blessing...
For cleaning up this church...
'cause, God gave back our Daddy..
And that's more than gold is worth.'

Sunday morning, pews all filled
And smiles on every face...
Especially two little country boys...
The ones who found this place.

Though it was hid back in the weeds...
And so far out of sight...
Nothing's ever hard to find
If you're walking toward God's light.

1 John 1:7 we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have Fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son Cleanses us from all sin.'

Thank You Jesus for Salvation!

The following is an old post from another blog
but I think it is time to post it

where it can easily be seen once again!

GLORY TO GOD!

Thank You Jesus for Salvation!

The following information from the "Spiritual Health Study" (on our Bible Studies website) is the basic message for how to get saved.

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood Revelation 1:5

The above verse is one of many in which the Holy Bible tells us of the importance of the Blood of Jesus Christ our Messiah for us to be cleansed of our sins.

Believe upon Jesus Christ that He died for your sins and rose again.
Repent of your sins and pray for forgiveness from God
and ask Him to cleanse and deliver you from all of your sins.
Ask Jesus to become Lord of your life and thank God that Jesus Christ is your Saviour.

Now pray using the above paragraph as a guideline.

If you prayed that prayer congratulations!

Now start reading the Bible and seek out Christian fellowship.
The Gospels in the New Testament of the Holy Bible will help you learn more about Jesus.
Reading the Old Testament also will give you the background and the history of God dealing with mankind prior to Jesus coming to Earth.

Sunday Devotional from Geneva Bible Poem, Part 5

Part 5 of the Bible lessons based on the Geneva Bible Poem:
"Of the Incompatible Treasure of the Holy Scriptures...."

These lessons are written especially for the group,

The Vulcan Council
while I do post them (afterwards) at other sites on the internet.

by internet Pastor Willam Mazzulla III
PastorBill3rd@JesusAnswers.com

Part 5 of the Bible lessons based on the Geneva Bible Poem:
"Of the Incompatible Treasure of the Holy Scriptures...."

Previous lessons are posted at
The Vulcan Anvil
a blog open to all.

*******************************************

Read not this book in any case
but with a single eye:
(Matthew 6;22)

Read not but first desire God''s grace,
to understand thereby.
(Psalm 119:27, 73)

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:22

We need to have a single eye especially focussed on God's Word and serving Jesus Christ..
If we are living God's Word, experiencing Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the way we should be then even in the difficult times there should be a joy way deep down in having this main focus of God's Word being our guideline with the Holy Spirit's help in our joyous serving of Jesus Christ, our God and Saviour!

Make me to understand ye way of thy precepts,
and I will meditate in thy wondrous works.
Psalm 119:27

Thine hands have made me and fashioned me:
give me understanding therefore,
that I may learn thy commandments.
Psalm 119:73

Jesus Answered these two verses,
He promised to send he Holy Spirit to help us, to comfort us, and to teach us of all things.
Jesus also promised to send the Holy Spirit to bring back to our remembrance all things which he said.
This is why it is important to study and read the Word so that the Holy Spirit can bring God's Word back to your remembrance
If you can't read very well then listen to the Word of God.

In conclusion here is how far we are in this very Biblical poem.

"Here is the spring where waters flow,
to quench our heat of sin:
Here is the tree where truth doth grow,
to lead our lives there in:
Here is the judge hat stints the strife,
when men's devices fail:
Here s the bread that feeds the life;
that death cannot assail.
The tidings of salvation dear,
comes to our ears from hence;
The fortress of our faith is here,
and shield of our defense,
Then be not like the hog that hath
a pearl at his desire,
And takes more pleasure in the trough
and wallowing in the mire.
Read not this book in any case
but with a single eye:
Read not but first desire God''s grace,
to understand thereby.."

Pastor Bill

Introduction and First Devotional Thought From The Geneva Bible.

Introduction
and First Devotional Thought
From The Geneva Bible.

This series was originally started especially for
Vulcan Council
(a Conservative Political Yahoo chat group)

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VulcanCouncil/

by internet Pastor Willam Mazzulla III
PastorBill3rd@JesusAnswers.com

Introduction:

Ann Matos (the founder/owner of the Vulcan Council and the Vulcan Anvil blog ) has asked me to do a a Sunday devotional or sermon.
I posted lessons of this series in the Vulcan Council and the Vulcan Anvil.

I believe Ann asked me to do this because she, like myself. recognizes that faith was a strong principle of our founding Fathers.
In fact the first original form of government in America
was done by Christians with strong Convictions.

This people were the Pilgrims and there government was based on the Mayflower Compact which they wrote when they realized that they were not going to land in an established southern colony.
It is said that the Mayflower Compact is
the foundation of all Western Democracies.

"What does all of this have to do with a devotional?"; you may ask.
Please be patient with me and you will see in a few moments.

By way of introduction I am reviewing history of the Pilgrims
because they used the Geneva Bible
which was before the King James version.

The Geneva Bible was first published 1560 and every so often republished after that.
That is about 51 years before the King James Version.
I find the translation of the King James Version Bible
to be very similar to the Geneva Bible.
Probably their was some influence of the
Geneva Bible upon the King James.

Also, I think both translations used the same source manuscripts,
the Textus Receptus (meaning the Received Text, the accepted text).

I purchased a copy of the Geneva Bible from
American Vision
The copyright allows exceptions like "brief quotations in articles, reviews and broadcasts" so each lesson I will include the link back to
American Vision
http://www.americanvision.com/

That way it should be OK for me to quote a little each week from the republished Geneva Bible.

This copy, I acquired is from the 1599 Geneva Bible and has modern text to make it readable. In the old original manuscripts "S" looked like an "f", "U" looked like a "V" and some spellings were different like "old" is spelled "olde". Other then that and a few grammatical updates which is all explained in the Foreword and/or Preface; this newer printing is the same as the 1599 Geneva Bible.

This 1599 Geneva Bible has a poem about the importance of scripture and also a page that is a Bible Study page about spiritual profiting when reading the Holy Scriptures.
Both were in the original 1599 Geneva Bible which the Pilgrims used!

I think... what better way then to acknowledge our "Founding Fathers" then to Study the Bible from their (the Pilgrims) perspective?

Since I am very busy; I will start with only the first verse from the poem with the corresponding scripture references that were provided in this Geneva Bible, and also include the concluding prayer
Next lesson, depending on my busyness I may do more then one verse from the poem.
Each lesson I will include the verse of the past lessonss so you can see the progression of the poem as we go.
Instead of just the references I will include the Bible verses
so that they are there for you.

----------------------------------------

This page that the pilgrims wrote
and included in their Geneva Bible is titled:
"Of the incompatible treasure of the holy scriptures,
with a prayer for the true use of the same."

This is the first verse, the corresponding scriptures provided and the concluding prayer at the end of the poem:

Here is the spring where waters flow,
to quench our heat of sin:
(Isa 12:3 and 49:10; Rom 5:16 and 6:17)

Therefore with joy shall ye draw waters out of the well of salvation.
Isaiah 12:3

They shall not be hungry,
neither shall they be thirsty,
neither shall the heat smite them,
nor the sun,
for he that hath compassion on them, shall lead them;
even to the springs of water shall he drive them.
Isaiah 49:10

Neither is the gift so,
as that which entered in by one that sinned;
for the fault came of one offence unto condemnation,
but the gift is of many offences to justification.
Romans 5:16

But God be thanked,
that ye have been the servants of sin,
but ye have obeyed from the heart
unto the form of the doctrine,
whereunto ye were delivered.
Romans 6:17

O Gracious God and most merciful Father which hast vouchsafed us the rich and precious jewel of they Holy Word.
assist us with thy spirit, that it may be written in our hearts to our everlasting comfort,
to reform us, to renew us according to thine own Image, to build us up,
and edify us into the perfect building of thy Christ,
sanctifying and increasingin us all heavenly virtues.
Grant this, O heavenly Father, for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

My devotional comments on the above:

Water is the source of life.
A person and most animals can go without food much longer then we can go without water.
Jesus told the woman at the well that He had water which would make her never thirst again.
In another place in the Gospels Jesus proclaimed that all who thirst shoudl come to Him for springs of Living Water.
Jesus is the source of the water of the wells of Salvation.
Jesus is the source of Living Water to eternal life.
Ponce De Leon and others were looking for a spring that would give eternal youth in the New world.
When he and others should have been looking to the Word of God not for "eternal youth" but for "Eternal Life".

Also, Psalm 121, along with our reference from Isaiah, tells us that the Lord will not allow us to be smitten by the sun (by the heat from the sun).
There are many other verses that talk about the Lord being our Rock, our shade, our shield, our protection from harm.

In Hebrews Jesus promised to he disciples and to all who would believe in Him that He would "never leave nor forsake us".

The gift that those verses in Romans are talking about is that Jesus Christ died on the Cross and shed His Blood for our sin so that we could have His free gift of eternal life.

Then as final proof of His authority to cleanse us of our sin to cleanse us by His Blood, Jesus Christ rose from the grave on the third day. Jesus is now in Heaven making intercession for us (praying for us).

One more thing.
There is nothing I can add to the prayer
because it is definitely inspired
and still as beneficial to pray now
as it was over 400 years ago.

Sincerely in Christ,
internet Pastor Bill

Christian gifts, patriotic gifts, angel gifts (Family E-store)

A few years back I started a webring that I founded called
E37BW Ministries and Friends.

A webring is in one-way a directory and in another sense it is something like a mini-internet of a particular subject or common ground.
Some webrings are sites about Conservative values, others about pets
and others are for anybody living in a particular state and so on.

The Patriotic items at Christian gifts, patriotic gifts, angel gifts (Family E-store)
are exceptional and there is also free beneficial information on that website.
So here is the review I wrote and posted in the forum of our webring;
E37BW Ministries and Friends

Christian gifts, patriotic gifts, angel gifts (Family E-store)

This is the second member site of
E37BW Ministries and Friends
that I am highlighting.

This site I am reviewing today is:
Christian gifts, patriotic gifts, angel gifts (Family E-store)

This is a very Conservative "God and Country" website store which is great!

The name of the website,
"Christian gifts, patriotic gifts, angel gifts"
is very accurate.
There are many gifts of each of the categories in the title.
There are Christian items, knick knacks and other things of angels as
well as many excellent Patriotic merchandise.

There are even items specific to honoring those serving in the military.
What a way to say thanks to those or the one you know who is sacrificing for our safety and freedom!

Also, just looking at the titles there are many interesting articles and e-books, from spiritual to common-sense political to "How to Quit Smoking".
Definitely something for everyone!

So please visit "Christian gifts, patriotic gifts, angel gifts".

"Gay Christian"? No!

Before you read this please know that God loves all of us... at the same time God makes a way out, a way of forgiveness and strength so we can stop sinning and with the sin forgiven and gone the guilt goes away. This is because God in the form of human flesh, as Jesus Christ, died for us, even though none of us deserved his dying for us. None of us deserved His dying for you and me. God, Jesus loved you that much!
After 3 days Jesus rose from the grave and is now in Heaven praying for us. Now unto the main points of my post.

Gay Christian"? No! Gay is not Christian and Christians are not homosexuals!

Google Ads promised to only put what is appropriate on my blog.
A "Gay Christian" website is not appropriate for those of us who are Biblical Christians. I have sent a message to Google and now I am re-editing because it appears that Google Ads has now removed the "Gay Christian" link from my site.

I am thankful for this.
However since it has already got me thinking about this I am still going to put this post up for all to read!

There really is no such thing as a practicing homosexual that is also a Christian.
That would be like a person into practicing Pagan religions claiming to be Christian.
The act of practicing either paganism or homosexuality/lesbianism makes such individuals not Biblical Christian therefore there really are no such thing as "Gay Christians" in the homosexual sense.

In fact homosexuality/lesbianism is not only against the Bible but also unnatural. If animals did not mate with their opposite sex they would all die out.

The Bible calls all sexual sin, sin.
In the Old Testament scriptures; God told Moses certain sins like idolatry
(which usually included sexual sin and/or human sacrifice) as well as all bestiality and homosexuality were abominations and required those involved to be stoned to death.
Those that were caught committing adultery would also be stoned to death under the Mosaic Law.

I am not advocating violence.
In fact when the religious leaders of Jesus day, took a woman caught in adultery to Him,
and mentioned stoning, Jesus reply was to tell them;
"He that is without sin cast the fist stone"

Slowly the religious leaders, left one at a time starting with the oldest first
until there was none left except the woman and Jesus.
Jesus asked the woman "Where are your accusers?".
Her answer was to the affect "None of them are left. My Lord".
Jesus told her; "Neither do I accuse you".
Now that is not an excuse to continue to be active in sexual sin
because then Jesus told the woman "to go and sin no more".
In other words do not sin anymore, do not be active sexually sex
unless it is with your husband and if not married, wait until you are married.

If it was a homosexual/lesbian he would have told that person "to go and sin no more" which would also mean stop being sexually active and even to stop all unnatural relationships of the same sex including to stop dating the same sex.

Now a few things:
As Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery,
Jesus still forgives adulterers, fornicators, homosexuals and lesbians.
Once forgiving repentance is involved the turning away from that sin.
Sometimes instead of trying to become the complete opposite (like immediately dating the opposie sex); it might be best to just abstain from any thing that could possibly lead to temptation of your recent past sinful lifestyle and to spend lots of time in God's Word and the Bible. also helpful is to find a church that has a pastor or elder that is willing to help you in your spiritual change and spiritual growth.
The Bible promises that Jesus Christ, God's Word (the Holy Bible) , and the Holy Spirit will transform us, transform you.
The longer you live for Jesus, the more you fellowship with Bible-believing Christians, the more you read your Bible, the more you pray, the more you resist sin and resist temptations then the more your mind will become Christ-like and the weaker your past sinful habits will become in you life.... the easier it will become to resist sin and to resist temptation.

I know this is true because in 1975 I was depressed, bitter, angry, depressed, border-line suicidal, into the occult, and on top of all that reality was beginning to become a blur until I attended a prayer meeting in June 1975. In that summer of 1975; I went from cursing God and cursing Christians to praising God in a few weeks and thanking Jesus for His goodness before the summer was over. If Jesus can change me then he can change anyone. And oh yeah, reality became clearer and my depression was healed and the anger and bitterness left.
There were many other wonderful changes Jesus made in my life which started in the summer of 1975.

Sincerely in Christ,
internet Pastor Bill

"Mistakes" & "Sin"; the difference is crucial

In a writers group we were discussing different kinds of struggles and I started to write about "mistakes and sin" in one of my replies but realized it did not apply to our discussion.
At the same time, though, I realized this topic of "mistakes and sin" is an important issue in the church world so I cut and pasted it into my MS Notebook, to be used later.

"Mistakes" & "Sin";
the difference is crucial

I hope my using the word sin does not offend any body.
I have noticed the last few years that some preachers are even saying words like "mistakes" instead of calling sin, sin.

If I innocently give wrong change that is a mistake.
If I were to purposely distract and confuse a cashier then claim that I gave a larger bill so as to get back more change then I deserve; that is sin. It is the sin of lying, of dishonesty, and of stealing.
I have never done that but I have heard stories of that.

If I am discussing something that I did or went through and get some details wrong because I do not remember clearly that is a mistake.
If I purposely exaggerate how good something is to make myself look better or even intentionally exaggerate how bad something is to get sympathy, either way it is deception which is sin and not "just a mistake".

This post a brief but important thought.

Conclusion:

Not all mistakes need to be repented of
but ALL SIN requires sincere REPENTANCE.

Jesus forgives those with a repentful heart.
Read Psalm 51.
Look up what John the Baptizer preached.
Use your concordance and look up words like
repent,
repentful,
repentance,
and repenting

Any person doing a word study on repent and the different forms of that Word will see for Jesus to forgive us we need to acknowledge our sin not only as mistakes but as sin.
We can not repent of sin that we refuse to acknowledge.

Thank God that even as Christians if we do stumble then (when we repent) Jesus is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us.

If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

IV Christmas Kindness

Touched By An Angel ?

Because my legs bother me constantly but worse when I am on my feet,
(except for while I preach under the anointing),
I try to use a riding cart many stores make available.
Thankfully Walmart is one of those stores.

A side note for the fist time in years, our local Walmart has lawn Nativity scenes.
This gladdens my heart, that even in their merchandising they are acknowledging Christmas and not just a "Winter Holiday". If only I could afford a set!

Anyway back to my main thought.
Usually, my wife Minister Rosemary helps me. She helps me by getting a regular grocery cart and putting all of our groceries in it as I check out. Then once I park the riding cart I lean on the regular grocery cart which now has our groceries placed in it and I push it out to the parking lot.
But she is home-bound during her recovery.

This true story happened to me earlier this week.
I did so much shopping that the small basket in the riding cart was almost over full (grocery shopping and Christmas dinner shopping).
I was also carrying a large box (plastic shelves kit) with one hand while steering the riding cart with the other.
When I got to the check-out the woman in front of me asked if I would be able to fit everything back in the small basket of the riding cart. My response was to thank her and say something like;
"It's OK, I will get by".
She was done ringing up her stuff and I thought was gone.
The next thing I know she had an empty cart, and was putting my bagged up groceries and merchandise in the regular cart as the cashier rang them up. Then she pushed the regular cart out to the entrance for me while I parked the riding cart.
I thanked her immensely and offered her $5 for her helping me and for her time (over 20 minutes, maybe over 1/2 hour). She told me; "No that is alright. Just give it to Salvation Army".
I had to drive to the other entrance because Salvation Army was not at both entrances but after experiencing such kindness; I was glad to give to the Salvation Army who helps so many low-income families have a nicer Christmas.

It almost felt like I was in a mini-Christian Christmas version of "Touched By An Angel".
Now that lady had the Christmas Spirit. I never found out if she was a Christian or not but she had the Christmas Spirit of taking the time to give of herself and then still think of others again. People that give of themselves like that at Christmas time, often are the kind that do give of themselves all year long.
Was I touched by an Angel?
Maybe.
That stranger's kindness is one more reason that this Christmas Season special to me;
knowing that there are still strangers willing to take time to help others.

Which reminds me of something else.
Yes, Jesus is the reason for the season
